Jobs Responsibility/Description
To oversee asset liability management and fund management program for the Bank.
To review the institution?s financial conditions, financial position and recommend viable alternatives for cost effective operation.
To participate in the strategic planning process, to lead the budgeting and forecasting of the Bank?s performance and to build a strong foundation by establishing financial discipline and ensuring accountability through follow-up & monitoring of performance and to recommend corrective measures for variance.
To establish a powerful and effective financial system in the Bank and help to prepare all accounts & financial statements of the bank timely and review periodically.
To plan, direct and coordinate the implementation of effective accounting and financial administration policies, procedures and reports to ensure meticulous compliance of Bank?s financial policy for sound financial management and control of the Bank.
Tax management ? Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax and VAT in accordance with applicable laws prevailing in Bangladesh.
To prepare, present and interpret financial reports to the Management, Board of Directors and Shareholders to direct and supervise preparation of all fiscal reporting, such as cost accounting, budgets, regulatory authorities and government reports.
To meet the requirements of the regulatory authorities (Bangladesh bank & others) regarding internal control, compliance and internal audit; provide suitable directions and leadership to the audit and inspection unit, monitoring unit and compliance unit; statutory audit (CA firms) and Bangladesh Bank inspection.
To maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
To ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
To monitor all open legal issues relating to financial matters, Tax, VAT etc.
To understand and recommend corrective measures on mitigating key elements of the Bank?s risk profile.
To submit reports to the Managing Director & CEO, Audit Committee/ EC Committee / Board of Directors periodically with assurance that risk-based audit concept is being implemented effectively in order to establish an effective internal control system within the Bank which will ultimately ensure that Bank?s asset & liabilities and other factors are free from risks to a great extent.
To oversee employee benefit plans in accordance with relevant laws and international accounting standards to ensure adequacy of funded facilities as well as cost effectiveness.
To partner and cross function with Business, Operations and Risk functions along with Human Resources Division, Treasury and ICC Division of the Bank.
Any other work / responsibility as and when assigned by the Management of the Bank
Educaional Qualification
CA / CMA / CFA or Equivalent Professional Degree; or
MBM / MBA or Masters in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Economics.
Jobs Experience
Minimum 10 Years
The candidate should have at least 10 (ten) years? practical experience in a reputed commercial Bank / major financial institution, with at least 03 (three) years? experience in Accounting or Tax Management related activities of a Bank
Additional Requirements
A candidate bearing professional qualification of Chartered Accountancy (FCA) or equivalent degree will be preferable.
Should have knowledge in Corporate Governance and Corporate Affairs in accordance with applicable laws / regulations in Bangladesh.
Should be knowledgeable in International Financial Reporting Standards, International Accounting Standards, The Companies Act, The Banking Companies Act, Income Tax Ordinance, VAT Act, Laws, regulations & guidelines of Bangladesh Bank and Bangladesh Securities & exchange Commission and other related laws.
Must have good expertise on Microsoft Office as well as experience of handling core banking system and related business intelligence.
